Project Description:
This project was strongly influenced by the social interaction between individuals when visiting hospitality industries during the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of this project was to design a Coffee Caravan that represents and follows COVID-19 regulations and guidelines. This assignment required model making and videoing of the system in place, and to represent how this design will minimise social interaction effectively.
This model in turn can be placed in Unreal Engine where the COVID-19 system can be represented visually through hands-on interaction via a user’s device. Thus providing psychological reassurance that the local hospitality industries are following the regulations and minimising the spread.
The design and shape of the Caravan were inspired by the shape of a coffee bean, and the aesthetic aim was to develop a contemporary rustic colour scheme. The outdoor bench acts as a barrier between staff and customers, preventing the need to get close to staff; also provided through two different stations (one side to order and the other to collect.

The main software that was utilised to develop the 3D Modelling of the Caravan was Solidworks, which can be visually represented through the Solidworks Renderings.
To the right, it represents the model looked before rendering in Solidworks
Overall, this project further enhanced my Solidworks skills, visual communication, problem-solving, Inclusivity, user experience/ interaction, model making and presenting skills.
